Prior to entering private practice, Adam served multiple senior-level positions in the Texas legislature, the Office of the Governor, and as a trusted aide in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. In addition to his legislative background, he has a strong understanding of political strategy and grassroots mobilization from his time spent serving on local, statewide, and congressional campaigns across the country.
Throughout his professional career, he has built an expansive network of contacts and resources in all three branches of Texas government. He has first-hand experience tracking complex legislative policies facing Texans and a proven record of bringing together legislative and industry leaders to deliver successful results in transportation and infrastructure, technology, natural resources, licensing & regulated industries, and utility-related issues.
Originally from Mississippi and an alumnus of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Adam began his career as a Legislative Assistant in the Mississippi State Senate. In 2006, he accepted a position in Washington D.C. working for then-Congressman Roger Wicker in the U.S. House of Representatives and continued on as part of his staff when he became a U.S. Senator. Adam also served on Senator Wicker’s successful 2008 senatorial campaign as Campaign Coordinator, canvasing the state of Mississippi and leading a successful voter turnout in the Jackson Metro area.
In 2008, Adam moved to Austin and joined the Office of Community Affairs for then-Governor Rick Perry. In this role, he represented the Governor’s legislative agenda to state agencies and trade associations. The position allowed him to establish long-lasting relationships with lawmakers, statewide officials, agency heads, and trade associations. Adam then joined the political team for Governor Perry’s landmark 2010 re-election campaign as the Tarrant County Field Director where he oversaw the regional operations of one of Perry’s most important regional voting blocs.
Adam served nine years working in the Texas Senate, most recently serving as Chief of Staff to Senator Kelly Hancock. Prior to his role as Chief of Staff, he served Senator Hancock in various positions including Legislative Director and the Senate Business & Commerce Committee Director. He began his time in the Senate by working as a Legislative Assistant for the late Senator Chris Harris.
Throughout his career, Adam has successfully shepherded legislation that established Texas as a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, transportation & infrastructure, insurance, alcohol related issues, 5G technology, and many other subjects. Similar legislation in other states and at the federal level has been based on the forward-thinking legislation Adam assisted in implementing in Texas.
Adam lives in Austin with his wife Kimberly and their two children, Phillip and Maggie.
